Bear in mind, this is a 2005 game, and even back then devs were already making “play it your way” games. The environments are well-designed enough, always featuring multiple platforms and some areas for you to hide, if you’re more of a stealthy kind of person. I also love the way the game forces you to “hunt” for your ammo, as they are all living creatures. A PS2 version was in the works but was deemed unfeasible with the closing of the Oddworld. This game was released in 2005 while the XBOX was still going strong and the crushing death of that system was still nought but a pessimists dream. So load up your double-barreled crossbow with up to 81 living ammo combinations. I really like the freedom in which the game lets you tackle your bounty hunting, as you have a varied arsenal of “living projectiles” you can use, ranging from man-eating proximity mines to electric bugs. Howdy pardners and welcome to the LP of one of the best hidden gems on the XBOX. Oddworld: Strangers Wrath HD is delivered digitally to your email. Stranger’s Wrath‘s gameplay is what made it age so well over the years. He sounds like a dim-witted ogre, not a cool cowboy. Everything about Oddworld is richly imagined, from the wide-open spaces and vast. He’s supposed to sound like the Man With No Name from The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, being a frowny man of few words, but he ended up sounding even dumber than the dumb grunts. Strangers Wrath doesnt mess around with subplots, or romances. There’s something about it that deeply irritated me throughout my entire playtime. With that being said, I definitely did not like the Stranger’s voice. It’s predictable, but it works brilliantly in here. Most characters are pretty funny, with exaggerated Southern accents and vocabulary, as well as grunts speaking with stereotypical “big dumb lackey” voices. The voice acting is, for the most part, pretty good. I don’t recommend doing so, but you CAN do that… You can beat everyone up and get their money.
